Guide to making a guide. Empty
PostSubject: Guide to making a guide.   Guide to making a guide. EmptySun Sep 26, 2010 2:26 pm

This is a guide to make a forum guide, how to make it attractive, and how to get people to read it.

Step 1: Making it Attractive.

Use Pictures in all of the guides you make, if you don't use pictures, people will loose interest and not want to read your guide.

Use different font styles and colours for different sections in your guide.

Use as many special features as the you can to make your guide seem more professional.

Use correct grammar, and not pathetic childish writing, such as... "nao u do dis"

Step 2: Getting People To Read Your Guide

Make an appealing title to your guide, don't just call it "My Guide"

Don't make a guide that someone else has already made, make your's original.

Make sure that you don't "miss-spell" your title, people will think that the guide is going to be full of mistyped words and not bother to click onto it.

How To....
-Use Pictures-

First you will need a range of pictures to describe your guide, for instance if you're making a combat guide, Take screen-shots In-Game.

Go to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and then hit the "Choose File Button"

Now you should have a page similar to this one...

Click the Second box down, named "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards"
And hit "CTRL & C" - This copy's.

Now, While writing your guide you can use "CTRL & V" - This Paste's

Resulting in your picture displaying when you click "Submit New Thread" Once you've finished making your guide.

-Use Attractive Fonts And Colours-

When typing up your guide you should see the options underneath your title,
the first drop-down bar option is "Fonts" Click it and choose your font!
As Shown Below...
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Highlight the specific piece of text that you want to be in the font you are going to choose, and then click on the font.

Using colours makes your guide seem more attractive to everyone, even if your content isn't amazing, your font will brighten up your guide and get you some brownie points for making some effort.
To add a colour just highlight the specific text that you want to be coloured, then choose the colour drop-down list (shown in the image below) to choose which colour you would like to use!
