First off getting there. Go to your spell book and click Minigames, then click PC. You should now be on an island. Walk all the way south and cross the gangplank.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Now for gear you could bring whatever you want but i suggest bringing the best gear you have. It is impossible to die once in Pest Control and even if you somehow manage to get yourself killed you will not loose your items!
You will most likely not be able to solo Pest Control so you will want to bring a good team. I have brought along Andrew and Nglatzhofer to help me with it.

It varies from 15,000 experience to around 1,400,000. Yes, you can gain experience in a skill once it has reached 99!
